Ryan Reynolds felt obliged to ‘save’ It Ends With Us from ‘disaster’ after reading script
Apparently Justin Baldoni took it as a personal attack but Ryan doesn’t think he owes him an apology
It seems Ryan Reynolds has officially thrown his hat into the ring of being involved with the drama surrounding It Ends With Us, alongside his wife Blake Lively.
After revealing he actually wrote most of the infamous rooftop scene in It Ends With Us, it turns out Ryan Reynolds felt as though he had to “jump in” to “save” the film from “disaster” after seeing the script. What a completely normal thing to get very involved in a film you’re not directly on the team for, I’m sure the actual writers really appreciated that.
Insiders revealed to the Daily Mail that Ryan Reynolds got involved in the film to help out his wife and doesn’t think he owes Justin Baldoni an apology. The source revealed: “He jumped in to help the film from disaster. Ryan has every right to stick up for his wife especially when it comes to a project, she is so passionate about.
“Ryan knew when he saw the script that it needed help. Together with Blake, they made sure that it was not only brilliant but reflective of what this story is about. Reynolds’ involvement was not a personal attack on Baldoni, but a desperate need to help his wife, with whom he shares four children, achieve her dreams.
“Ryan didn’t want this to fail for anyone, especially his wife. It was nothing against Justin, but Justin took it personally and it is not Ryan’s fault, nor does he have any apology to give. He got nothing out of this. He didn’t want any credit. He just wanted to see Blake’s first big break back into the business succeed.

“He feels in many ways that Blake sacrificed a lot to raise their children while he was able to continue his dreams and he feels that he owes her so much. He loves her more than anything and he wants her to be able to achieve her dreams. And she will always have her husband’s help, guidance, and support in whatever she does.”
As for Ryan’s involvement in the new script, Blake Lively previously revealed that her husband actually wrote *that* rooftop scene in the film. During an interview with E! News, she revealed: “The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that, but you now.”
The film’s screenwriter, Christy Hall, had no idea that Ryan Reynolds ended up doing a lot of the writing that ultimately made the final cut, as she thought they had just been “improvised” moments.
She admitted: “When I watched the movie I recognized the scene, like all of those moments are hit perfectly, right? And then there were some things I didn’t recognize. Like when he says, ‘Pretty please with a cherry on top’ and then she talks about Maraschino cherries. I did not write that, and I knew that I did not write that, but I thought it was potentially improvised on the day.”
It’s giving major shade…
