Giovanni splits from influencer girlfriend after ‘series of rows’ over Strictly scandal

Former Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice has broken up with his influencer girlfriend Molly Brown after a reported “series of rows” over the Strictly scandal.

Giovanni began dating the 24 year old influencer and model in February, when they went Instagram official, but split three weeks later, before getting back together. They went on to spark engagement rumours in May when Molly was spotted with a ring on her wedding finger. But they have now removed all traces of each other from social media.

Sources close to the couple revealed to the Mirror they have decided to break up again. One said: “Giovanni and Molly grew very close, very quickly, after they split up the first time and got back together. Their relationship has been pretty full on. But they have rowed again recently and it all came to a head earlier this week, when they called it quits.

“Molly has been very supportive of Giovanni, but he has been under a lot of stress lately and that has taken its toll.” Giovanni quit Strictly in May following accusations he bullied his celebrity partner Amanda Abbington. He has repeatedly denied all accusations against him.

The source added: “It is not impossible they will try to give things another go once the dust has settled a little, after all, they have done that before. But at the moment things are quite heated and it looks very unlikely.”

Giovanni was suspended from Strictly while a BBC probe is conducted over claims of off-camera misconduct made by Amanda Abbington, and two other former celeb partners. He denies all the claims against him.

The former pro hired Schillings, a top law company known for defending celebrities, which TV insiders described as a “bold move” after Amanda instructed rival lawyers at Carter Ruck. Giovanni’s lawyers vowed that he “won’t be cancelled” and will “clear his name” and “fully co-operate” with the BBC’s inquiry.

The inquiry led to a wider probe, where another pro Graziano Di Prima has been sacked from the show after admitting kicking his partner Zara McDermott.  

Giovanni’s split from Molly comes two months after the influencer was pictured with a gold wedding ring on her finger. They had just returned from a romantic holiday to Dubai and Portugal.

They also bought a new puppy together, named Roxy, with Molly posting a picture on Instagram of Giovanni cuddling her.

The source added: “Molly has stood by Giovanni through an immensely difficult time, so it is a shame that they have decided to end things. But at the moment they both feel it is for the best.”
