Robed man delivers vile leaflets to the student triangle

A “priest-like” man was caught by appalled students yesterday delivering leaflets that read “the judgement of god on homosexualism reveals itself in the HIV/AIDS virus”.

It is reported that the man wearing full robes canvassed the entire student triangle with the leaflet titled “The Works of Darkness”, which listed ten sins.

The leaflets condemned fornifaction, the use of contraception, assisted fertilisation, abortion, pornography, divorce, homosexuality and lesbianism, transgenderism, euthanasia and atheism.

The Epinal spoke to a third year English student, who saw the sinister man.

She said: “I saw a weird man walking up Storer road earlier in a robe posting things through people’s doors.”

The man reportedly scurried away when Charlie Forbes, a third year Geography student, confronted him about the foul leaflets he received:

“Came downstairs after a good nights sleep, to this bloke in priest-like robes tucking this leaflet through our door. Thought nothing of it until I had a look at it. Not sure if you can see in the picture but it’s titled ‘The Works of Darkness’ and goes on to list a number of ‘sins’.

“What if I was a gay, son of a divorced family struggling with some personal issues and I read something like that how would I feel? If you are transgender are you really ‘possessed by demons’? Without contraception and family planning, how do we hope to solve the AIDS crisis in Africa? I’m fine for people to express their views but knowingly posting aggressive comments without leaving a phone number or website to be contacted from is just plain cowardly.

“So to the bald priest that wouldn’t look me in the eyes when I called out this morning I ask you – if you’re not willing to stop and talk about your feelings, how can you hide behind a leaflet? Rant over.”

A description of the man has been given to the police.

The leaflets refer to transexuals as “demons, who need counselling and exorcism”.

The “Works of Darkness” also compares artificial fertilisation (IVF) to the “world of Frankenstein novels and Nazi death camps”.

It is believed that similar leaflets have been delivered in other towns, but have been exclusively focused on homosexuality. The “Works of Darkness” also appeared in Cambridge last week.

The leaflets have caused outrage amongst the student body.

An organisation in Loughborough is posting homophobic and generally backward leaflets through people's doors. Human stupidity is limitless.

Charlie Dale, Chair of the LGBT association, posted this to Facebook yesterday:

“Im not normally the kind of person to have massive rants over Facebook but when I feel it’s needed I have no problem doing it, some people were posting these in peoples mailboxes around Loughborough earlier today and I don’t feel that as the chair of the LGBT association at Loughborough I can ignore it.
