Should there be an age limit in clubs?

Everyone has a story about getting unwanted attention, but should an age limit be enforced to try and stop older people from entering clubs?

There probably isn’t a single girl I know who hasn’t told me a story of the time she was groped by an ‘older man’ in a club. We all complain about the unwanted attention, from the creepy stares to the unnecessary pinching of bums. Should these people really be allowed into the clubs where young girls are encouraged to become drunk and vulnerable? Doesn’t it encourage all sorts of vile behaviour that everyone would rather avoid?

Well, as much as we like to complain, the reality is that there really shouldn’t be an age limit. Successful men in their thirties love to splash the cash in clubs – they pay for girl’s drinks in return for attention, and it’s these men that probably provide clubs with a whole lot of money, and it’s these men that people complain about a lot less often.

Men in their forties seem to be a bit creepier once drunk and in a club of young women. But then again, I’ve also seen the embarrassing ladies at the same age dancing the night away without caring about who’s watching them. Maybe they go to clubs to meet people just like we do, and why should we stop them? It seems pretty damn unfair if you ask me.

He is probably wishing he was young again

And yes, the occasional guy in his fifties will float around a club room and will steal a look at you, with a small glint in his eye. He is probably wishing he was young again, knowing he doesn’t have a chance with such a beautiful girl so he takes the opportunity whilst you’re drunk to catch a glance or to pinch your bum. I’ve never seen someone over the age of 60 in a club, so let’s stop here.

We all complain about unwanted attention, and sometime’s it can actually upset us, but who are we to stop other people having their fun? We can always go to another club or ignore them and hope they go away.

As long as you’re over 18 clubs should allow everyone in, and they do. I know it’s probably because ‘older guys’ are on a much higher budget than the majority of students who enter, but it also seems unfair to take this small piece of youth away from them.
