One of the stand‘s columnists, Jamie Ross was in London tonight for the 2011 Guardian Student Media Awards, where he had been shortlisted for Feature Writer of the Year.

After very little consideration the judging panel, which included the Guardian’s Tanya Gold, handed Jamie the award.

In an exclusive text interview with the stand, Jamie said that this award “is for anyone who ever doubted me. You only made me stronger. Also, I am drunk. Hi.”

When asked how he was feeling Jamie had to resort to capitals: “BEST NIGHT EVER.”
