Hallam Students could face strike disruptions as two thirds of UCU members vote in favour of striking

“We know when enough is enough and our members at Sheffield Hallam University have spoken out clearly”

Sheffield Hallam students may face potential strike disruptions as Hallam’s University College Union (UCU) group voted in favour of strike action this evening.

Nearly two thirds (61.3 per cent) of Hallam UCU members voted to back strike action.

Proposed strike action is taking place due to on-going disputes concerning pensions, pay and working conditions.

In a post, tweeted by Hallam UCU, they said: “We are very pleased with this result! We know when enough is enough and our members at Sheffield Hallam University have spoken out clearly!”

It has not yet been confirmed when strike action will take place. The higher education committee will be holding a meeting on 12 November to discuss the next steps of this potential strike action.
