10 Things To Do This Week

Huge week for music, with more from theatre, photograpy and dance.

1) Aga Sikolo @ Coco Tang

Tuesday,  10pm, £6

The clever boys and girls in the architecture department are flying down to South Africa this summer to build a school of their own design, as you do… Money from ticket and barrel sales will go to the project to buy materials for the building, so enjoy some delicious cocktails while simultaneously doing something charitable.

2) The Mic Presents… @ Rescue Rooms

Our favourite musical magazine The Mic present the latest in up and coming music in Nottingham. In the wake of Jake Bugg and Dog is Dead, we’re surely in for a treat.

Monday, 7.30pm, £4

3) NuDance ‘Imagine’ @ Kings Meadow Campus

Thursday- Saturday, 7pm, £6-8

Showcasing everything from tap to street jazz, the annual NuDance performance will demonstrate the hard work put in by one of the most popular societies.

4) POSH @ Nottingham New Theatre

Wednesday-Saturday, 7.30pm (2.30pm Sat Mat), £5

This weeks NNT offering is a load of lads. Loaded on unlimited champagne, frivolity and extravagance turns sinister…

5) Gold teeth, Steak and Blowjob special @ Bodega

Thursday, 10pm, £4 adv.

One month after Valentines Day and we find ourselves at a rather unorthodox celebration. It was simply inevitable that there was going to be an event to commemorate this joyous (for some..) day.

6) Foals @ Rock City

Tuesday, 7pm, Sold Out

Foals are back, with a tour coinc6iding with the release of their 3rd album. If you’re unfortunate enough to get a ticket, we’ve got on good authority that they’re on Jools Holland’s ‘Later…’ this Friday.

7) Nature Through The Lens @ P Spowage Art Gallery

15th-22nd March, All Day, Free

With images submitted to fit the theme of ‘nature’ this exhibition will offer a wide array of angles on the subject. Expect intricate close ups as well as vast sweeping landscapes, all questioning how nature effects us.

8) The Last of the Haussmans @ Nottingham New Theatre UNCUT

Monday & Tuesday, 7.30pm, £3

The Performing Arts Studio (Trent building) plays host to the opening Nottingham New Theatre Uncut season. A savage yet heartwarming dysfunctional family.

9) Musicality, The Rhythm of Life @ The Den

Saturday, 7.30pm, £4-5

This term we just can’t get enough of Musicality. With two packed out shows and a cabaret down already, they’re back for round two (ding ding ding). This evening will take on the music from Matilda, West Side Story, Les Misérables, Wicked, Avenue Q and more. On for another best society award this year at the Societies Ball? we think so…

10) Willy Mason @ Rescue Rooms

Wednesday, 7.30pm, £12

A previous feature of Nottingham’s Dot To Dot festival (coming soon…) Willy Mason returns for a headline slot at Rescue Rooms this Wednesday.
