Arrest made following evacuation of the Arndale Centre
The Arndale Centre was evacuated
George MathiesonAt 11:26am today an urgent evacuation took place at the Arndale Centre.
There were reports of armed police arresting a man, whilst staff evacuated the centre.
In light of last night’s appalling attack, Manchester is a city is under a severe threat alert.
There have been reports of a parcel found in the food court, prior to the arrest.
Greater Manchester Police are yet to issue a statement, although Manchester Evening News were quick to assert that the evacuation wasn’t connected to last night’s attack.
Police have urged anyone with information about last nights attack to contact the police and terror hotline on 0800789321.
