Student witnesses urged to come forward after man killed following incident outside South

Ben MarshallAn appeal has been launched for students who witnessed an incident outside South nightclub – just before a man collapsed to his death.
Two possible witnesses to the incident
The 34-year-old was found collapsed in Deansgate in the early hours of 24 January, with serious head injuries.
He died a week later in hospital after being attacked at the junction with John Dalton Street.
But now police are asking students who witnessed an incident outside The Murkage Club at South earlier that evening to come forward.
Police are now asking any students who were at the club on this night to come forward if they have any info.
Photos of people who may have seen the assault have been released to try and kick things off.
“A number of weeks have passed since the death but we are continuing to appeal for witnesses”, said Investigating Officer Bob Tonge.
“Just before the assault we believe there was an incident outside South and we know there were a number of people around at that time”.
