Loughborough ranked 41st best uni in the UK

At least we beat DMU

The Times Higher Education have revealed the top 200 universities in Europe – and Loughborough’s come 171st.

The UK topped the ranking of the top 200 universities in Europe with 46 UK universities making the cut, meaning that the UK took almost a quarter of places.

To no one’s surprise, Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London achieved the highest scores of all higher education institutions in the continent, based on the data and methodology used to compile these university rankings.

Institutions were measured on a number of factors: their teaching environment, research environment, research influence, industry income and international outlook.

UCL also did Europe proud, ranking number five on the list.

However, little old Loughborough only ranked 171 on the list – 41st in the UK – ranking lower than the likes of our East Midland neighbours Nottingham and Leicester.

Leicester ranked 84th on the list, while Nottingham ranked a respectable 68th. We even came lower than Bangor University… wherever that is.

However, do not fear and simply remember that we are ranked number 11 in The Complete University Guide’s 2016 University League Table- that’s what really matters.

We are also obviously home to the best looking university students in the UK, and unlike DMU, actually made the list.  Better luck next time.
