A new student-letting portal has come just in time for the pre-Christmas housing panic.

FreshRent, run by Lincoln students, offers more houses than nearly every other company online and are even allocating funds to donate free tents for the homeless once students sign their contract with a letting agency.

The company, previously named Student Smart Accommodation, hosts student housing in most major University cities, with over 50k rooms on offer.

Brains behind the idea includes University of Lincoln second year Aaron Short and third years Matthew Meekins and Henry Debenham.

“We create a relationship with students where they can ring us with any questions and we will help them out wherever we can,” explains Marketing Director, Aaron.

Another quirk of FreshRent is that they offer a ‘DIY’ bath tub to students that don’t own a proper one in their house.

Big enough for a few plastic ducks

Aaron said: “We googled student bath tubs and a funny picture came up of a girl who made a tub out of a box. So we decided to guarantee a bath tub (plastic box) with every house! It was for a bit of a laugh really.”
