They’re building an outdoor gym and parkour track on that random patch of grass opposite Royal Park Pub

Quick pint before some pull-ups?

You know that random bit of dirt opposite RPP? Well, it used to be the site of a school, but for years now it's remained empty – as anyone who lives in Hyde Park may have noticed. But not for much longer.

With an investment of over half a million pounds, work has now begun on the Royal Park site in an effort to rejuvenate the area and inject a bit more life into Hyde Park.

The site is planned to house sports facilities, new landscaping, a bouldering wall, parkour track, garden, and a disability-friendly play area for children.

So, if you've ever fancied a spot of parkour after seven pints and a go on the karaoke, it looks like your prayers have been answered. Maybe with an outdoor gym smack bang next to the pub this year you will actually be able to keep that New Year's resolution after all.
