BREAKING: Canal Mills is NOT closing down

The best Christmas present ever

Canal Mills has just announced they will no longer be closing down on New Year's Day 2019.

Earlier this year, Canal Mills said they were closing down after six years of Leeds' wildest events – including Bongo's Bingo, Garden Parties and even a collab with Bakery 164. To go out with a bang, they are hosting a string of events for "The Final Chapter."

THE FINAL CHAPTER…Our last ever Autumn/Winter programme will be announced on Tuesday 14th August at 6pm.

But now, less than a month before their epic closing party, turns out "The Final Chapter" is not so "final" after all.

In a special announcement, Canal Mills said their landlords have extended the lease for the venue while plans for redevelopment of the property are finalised.

They will remain open until June 2019

Mark Newton, Director of Canal Mills, said: "We have some very special shows to announce alongside the return of the huge successful Garden Parties which will take place on the May Bank Holiday weekends. We have been making progress with the opening of our new venue which will now happen in Autumn 2019".

So worry not, we can end 2018 in style with their NYE and NYD parties, knowing our beloved Canal Mills will be here to the end of this academic year. And next year, we will have a whole new venue to look forward to.
