Lancaster Uni Squash Society to host charity match in aid of mental health

Students are invited to watch the event at the University Sports Centre

Lancaster University Squash Society will host a special match to raise money for the mental health charity Mind.

Two of the society’s players on the Mens 1st Squash Team will play a best of 59 game squash match.

The charity Mind is one which is “close to the hearts to many” of the Squash Society members. A GoFundMe has been set up for anyone wishing to donate.

The match is set to take place on Friday 16th June at Lancaster University Squash Courts, and students are invited to watch.

The two players, Watts and Egan, both competed for the university’s BUCS team for squash. The players also competed in this year’s Roses competition, for which they helped to win a score of four-one for the Men’s 1st team.

Lancaster University Squash Society said: “A similar challenge had been attempted a few years ago, so I have decided (with Callum) to attempt it! We wanted to raise some money for a good cause too, so this was the perfect opportunity to do so! We are grateful for any support that we receive, and it is going to a great cause!”

For anyone wishing to donate, the GoFundMe can be accessed here.
