Get the VKs on ice: Big Cheese is returning to Potterrow on Saturday night

BRB, clearing my schedule for Saturday

In what can only be described as the best thing to have come out of 2021 so far, Big Cheese is back.

The last time the cheese was open was the 15th March 2020! That’s right, after over 18 months of being denied sticky floors, iconic trashy tunes, and VK’s, Big Cheese is set to reopen at 10pm on Saturday 2nd of October.

Tickets are now available to preorder and can be found on EUSA’s website. Tickets for matriculated students are £5, and for non-students £7. And in order to mark this iconic occasion, the first 200 entrants will get a VK on the house!

To be allowed entry you must have double vaccination status, and be able to prove it.

Double vaccination status can be proven by logging onto your NHS Scotland covid portal using your unique username and password. You should have created an account if booking your vaccine online. From there, click ‘vaccination status’ and view, download or request a paper copy. Paper copies can take up to 14 days to arrive.

Alternatively, you can also get a copy of your vaccine status by phoning the Covid-19 Status Helpline on 0808 196 8565. The helpline is open every day from 10:00am to 6:00pm. You should only request your vaccination status over the phone if you’re unable to download a PDF version.

Big Cheese has been an Edinburgh staple for years and has featured many famous faces including Tinchy Stryder, Scott Mills, Dick and Dom, and ‘Hodor’ aka Kristian Nairn. It’s previous themed nights include International Women’s Day, Inflatable Party, and a UV Paint Party. We can’t wait to see what famous faces and fun events they will be putting on for us this year!
