David Bailey to share his Stardust with Edinburgh
Exhibition will be on show at the Scottish National Gallery next summer.
Iconic photographer David Bailey is bringing his work back to Scotland after more than a decade in a retrospective exhibition entitled ‘Stardust‘.
The exhibition, which will be on display next summer at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, features over 250 of Bailey’s best photographs personally chosen by the man himself.
With a career that began in the 1960s with British Vogue and spanned over half a century, ‘Stardust’ can also be seen as an insight into the changing world of celebrity and photography.
Alongside famous celebrity portraits and fashion shoots, some travel photography will be displayed for the first time. There will also be a whole room dedicated to the Rolling Stones.
If you can’t wait until next summer, ‘Stardust’ is currently on display at The National Portrait Gallery in London until May. The gallery are also running an ‘Inspired by Bailey’ photography competition on instagram (#inspiredbybailey), and the winning entry will be displayed in the National Gallery. It is possible that this competition will be repeated in Scotland, so now would be a good time to start practising your instagram skills.
