Cardiff student pleads guilty to raping woman during night out last year

Preet Vikal originally plead not guilty but changed his plea after consulting with his family

A Cardiff student has plead guilty to raping a woman during a night out last year.

20-year-old Preet Vikal, of Prime Student Letting, Adamstown admitted to the attack during a plea hearing.

The hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard that Vikal attacked the woman following a night out in June last year, BBC reports.

He had originally plead not guilty but after consulting with his lawyer and family members, who had travelled over from India for the hearing, he changed his plea.

No more information surrounding the crime has been published by South Wales Police or the court as of yet.

Vikal is due back in Cardiff Crown Court in June for his sentencing hearing.
