We are looking for new writers and here is all the information you need to know if you want to join The Bristol Tab

Always fancied yourself as a writer but don’t know where to start? You’re in luck, The Bristol Tab is looking for new writers for the upcoming academic year!

Whether you’re just starting as a fresher, or you’re a second or third year who was held back from societies by the clutches of Covid-19, we want opinions from people across the student community.

Writing for The Tab is a great way to get involved in events across the uni and provide an impactful voice for students. It insures that you are the first to hear the best goss around campus and not to mention it will add some spice on your cv.

News

Writing news for The Bristol Tab means providing a voice for all students, covering local stories, interviewing important people and being there on the scene as events unfold.

The Bristol Tab has previously covered stories such as the rebellious occupation of the Wills Memorial building, audition opportunities for the hit TV show Sex Education, as well as the university’s ranking in mental health leagues.

If you’ve got what it takes to write about exhilarating affairs, as well as chasing stories and attending events, the news team is the place for you.

Features

Features stories can range from advice and guides for students, to a good old fashioned roast and we’re always open to new ideas. This year we’re looking especially for students with a penchant for culture, who would be interested in writing fashion and theatre reviews, and reporting on the creative side of things amongst Bristol’s students.

Meetings

We have weekly meetings over a pint at the pub where you can bring your best ideas and collect commissions. We also have regular socials ranging from BBQ’s to club nights.

No previous writing experience is necessary, just bring yourself and loads of enthusiasm. If you’ve got an opinion that you think needs sharing, we want to hear it.
