Meet the International students

They all study International Politics and they all hate the weather. Shock.

aberystwyth International

The University is home to students from all over the country, and many from all over the world, too.

Some of the international students are here for just a semester, others are around for the full three year experience.

The Tab asked a group about their experience of Aberystwyth so far.

Zeina Dahlan

Zeina is a second year Film and TV student, here for the three year package.

She said: “I’m originally from Palestine, but I lived in Jordan before Wales.

“I absolutely adore Aber, it’s marvellous. The only thing I don’t like is that it’s such a long train ride from London.”

Irina Silvano

Irina is a first year undergraduate from Italy, so no wonder she’s cold.

She said: “I like Aber, everybody is very friendly and the town is cheerful.

“The only thing that I don’t like is the weather, it’s always cold.”

Yuki Ueno

Yuki is a second year studying International Politics for a full three years.

He told The Tab: “I like that Aber is quiet and peaceful. Compared to Japan, I feel time goes by slowly.

“I enjoy living here, except for Penglais Hill.  I have to climb it every day to go to uni.”

Jérémy Guidat

Jérémy left Strasbourg, France, to study International Politics for his final year in Aber.

“I’m going to be in Aberystwyth for one year. So far, I find it very lovely.

“The best part is certainly the atmosphere, and the University.

“The worst thing is the weather, and the hill.”

Daniela Solorzano

Daniela is from Mexico and is studying International Politics and French.

She said: “I’ve been living in Aberystwyth for three years now and I like it very much.

“I just love the view from the National Library.

“In my first year, I used to get lost in town. I know it is unbelievable in such a small town.”

Tse Yee Teng

Tenny is from Hong Kong and is studying International Politics.

“I came here because my cousin was studying here, I didn’t know about Aberystwyth before.

“Coming from a big city, I found Aber quiet and small, but it is nice living here.

“I enjoy the beach and going out at night. The weather is the only thing I hate.”
