Everything Sophie Turner has said about Taylor Swift helping her through Joe Jonas divorce

It was the picture that broke the internet in September 2023 during the  Sophie Turner divorce from Joe Jonas: The Game of Thrones star stepping out with Taylor Swift for some spaghetti. It was made all the more delicious by the knowledge that Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner both share an ex in Joe Jonas, and Sophie had joked previously that the Joe diss track Mr Perfectly Fine from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) was “not NOT a bop”. There were loads of rumours about how Taylor Swift was helping her during the divorce, so here’s what Sophie Turner has recently said about her friendship with Tay and how she helped her out during the Joe Jonas divorce.

Taylor lent Sophie her Manhattan apartment to live in during the divorce

Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner have known each other since 2019, but recently Sophie revealed in a British Vogue interview that she reached out to Taylor to see if she knew a place she could rent in New York. Taylor then kindly offered her her own apartment for free. “Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year,” Sophie said. “I’ve never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me, and provided us with a home and a safe space. She really has a heart of gold.”

Sophie also spoke a bit about the divorce itself, telling British Vogue she was hurt by the “mum-shaming” comments online. “It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mum guilt is so real! I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum, and you’ve never been a partier.'”

“I mean, it’s unfathomable the amount of people that will just make shit up and put it up based on a picture,” she continued. “A picture might tell a thousand words, but it’s not my story. It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn’t written, hadn’t produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I’m still in shock.”
