Viral ‘Burger King Mom’ who ran restaurant alone for 12 hours says she’s been fired
‘I’m already aggravated’
So, a Burger King employee who went viral for running the whole restaurant alone for 12 hours said she was fired.
Basically, a few weeks ago, Nykia Hamilton, a 25-year-old single mum of three, went viral after a TikTok showed her working a whole 12-hour shift all on her own at a Burger King in Columbia, South Carolina. The video, filmed by a customer, showed her doing everything. She was taking orders at the drive-thru, cooking burgers and chicken sandwiches, cleaning the floors, and even restocking supplies. People were amazed that she managed it all by herself.

“Burger King mom”, aka Nykia, revealed she is raising three children on her own. “I’ve got three kids to take care of, I’m a single mother,” she told WACH FOX. “I still got to feed them, and I’ve got a child about to go to school.”
“You got to do what you got to do. I’m trying to do my best. I’ve got three babies and they depend on me. They love me. I be missing my own kids’ lives, I work a lot,” she added. “I am having to provide for them and I really don’t be having time to spend with them, and it hurts me a lot. Hopefully one day I won’t have to worry so much and I can actually be there for them.”
Now, in a recently shared video, Nykia revealed that she was fired from her job.
So, why did she get fired?

Despite her viral fame and the outpouring of support, Nykia recently claimed she was fired by Burger King. In a tearful TikTok video, she explained, “[Burger King] fired me because I’ve been late because of my kids. My kids come first. Y’all don’t pay for no babysitter, or nothing.”
Nykia said the decision hit her hard after a period of intense public attention. “I’m already aggravated, I’m already depressed, all of this mental stuff, and motherf****ers f****ing with me, so leave me alone,” she added.
Since losing her job, Nykia launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her family, which so far raised over $72,000 of a $90,000 goal. “I am a 25-year-old single mom of three who works two jobs,” she told donors. “I just went viral for working on TikTok, I really do everything for my kids.”
