Right, so who are Brianna Chickenfry and Zach Bryan and why should you care they split up?

Right, I don’t know about you guys but I cannot escape the fact that Brianna Chickenfry and Zach Bryan have split up, despite the fact I have honestly never heard of these two in my life. Nonetheless, I’m deeply invested in them, particularly as their breakup seems to be going down the publicly messy route which I’m always a fan of.

Okay, but let’s explain who Brianna Chickenfry and Zach Bryan actually are, what the drama surrounding their split is and why you should even care.

We’ll address Briana first, and let’s get to the elephant in the room, no that’s not her actual surname. Her real surname is LaPaglia and she got the nickname Chickenfry following one of her viral Vines. She told the New York Post in 2021 that Chickenfry was inspired by a Vine she made where she compared her legs to Burger King chicken fries. So there’s that cleared up.

But who actually is she? Well, she got her start on Vine and unexpectedly blew up which led Barstool Sports to reach out to her and offer her full time employment. She started her own podcast and wrote some blogs for them. She currently hosts the BFF’s podcast with co-host Dave Portnoy.

As for her ex, Zach Bryan he’s a country singer and I’m afraid that’s all there is to say about him. Unless you’re a country music fan you probably wouldn’t immediately recognise his music I’m sorry to say.

Okay but now let’s get to the real meat and potatoes, which is explaining their messy breakup. The pair started dating in July 2023, with Brianna announcing the exciting news on her podcast. They attended the Grammy’s together earlier this year and did a wholesome trip away for their one year anniversary.

Cut to October 22 and Zach Bryan confirms he and Brianna Chickenfry have indeed split up. He announced the news on his Instagram story, writing: “Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.

“I’ve had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go out different ways. I am not perfect and never will be.”

Brianna then addressed the split as well but seemed significantly more surprised by the news, saying she felt “blindsided” by his statement. Yikes.

She wrote: “Hey guys I’m feeling really blindsided right now. Gonna hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately, when I’m ready I’ll be back and ready to talk.

“I love you guys so much thank you for all of your kind words. Remember you are so loved and everything’s always gonna be OK.”

She then made a YouTube video to explain more about their breakup, revealing that she had no idea he was going to post his statement and she feels very “discarded” by the country music singer.

In the YouTube video, titled “Love you guys, I’ll be back soon” she admitted: “I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up and I had no idea that post was going up. He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me. I just woke up to a bunch of texts, like, ‘Are you okay?’

“I’m at the point where it’s like, how can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally, like through stuff that you shouldn’t because you just love them and you want them… like you see the good in them?

“This is so embarrassing. I don’t give a f*ck. How can you give every ounce of yourself to someone and then be discarded of in a few days. It’s really, really heartbreaking.”

Well now we can all sleep at night knowing who these two are and why their breakup has caused so much drama.
