Fans think they’ve cracked why Sean has it out for fellow Love Island star Mimii
Who knew a reality show could be so cutthroat
Less than a week away from the Love Island grand final, the £50,000 prize, tensions are high as ever in the villa, especially between Islanders Sean Stone and Mimii Nglube. Sean seems to have a vendetta against current fan favourite Mimii, who called him out as trying to undermine her. The popular TV show is no stranger to a scandal or internal arguments, but viewers have picked up on a one-sided quarrel between the pair, who both joined the villa on day one.
Viewers have pointed out Sean’s behaviour, and believe it to be a tactic in order to boost his winning chances at the show’s finale next week. But what exactly has he done towards Mimii, and who in the villa has picked up on it too?
The Grafties episode saw Sean loudly criticising Mimii’s new relationship with Josh Oyinsan, calling the pair “phoney”. Mimii was dumped by Ayo after a turbulent Casa Amor scandal, where he decided to pursue things with Jessica Spencer. She has since become close with Josh, a new member of the villa. Not sure what any of this has to do with Sean.
Nonetheless, he decided to get involved by questioning the new pair’s bond not long after they decided to become exclusive. He seemed to be pushing at the pair, asking for it to “make sense” before Mimii responded: “No one actually forced you to say anything. It seems like you have an issue?”
Sean replied with “No, I don’t! It’s just the topic of conversation that we are talking about.” But his behaviour has left fans stumped.

A fan online said: “Something isn’t sitting right with Sour man Sean! He’s constantly coming for Mimii, he’s either critiquing Mimii & Josh or he’s accusing Ayo & Mimii of still liking each other. He’s figured out that Mimii is popular and it’s burning him.” It looks like it’s finally clicked for Sean that he’s not going to be taking home the £50,000, and it explains why he’s been so backhanded with Mimii. Talk about a sore loser.
Sean wasn’t the only one to turn heads either: His partner Matilda Draper was mysteriously quiet throughout the whole interaction, which may have been an intentional decision to distance herself from his actions. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) weren’t quick to dismiss Sean’s treatment of Matilda, with one commenting: “Sean telling Matilda to Shut up should be more than enough proof how terrible he is”.
Another added: “How Matilda and Jessy haven’t gotten the ick yet is beyond me.” Looks like Joey Essex also needs to start cleaning up his act.
One user went as far to suggest: “I say we remove Sean, Matilda, Joey, Jessy and replace them with Harriett & Ronnie nd Will & Uma”. I guess being unproblematic is the way to win the show this year, who would have thought?
According to gambling.com, Love Island sweethearts Nicole and Ciaran are the favourites to win this year with Mimii and Josh placing second, so if it’s the prize that Sean is concerned about, he’s going for the wrong couple.
