Luca and Dami address bullying

Dami and Luca have finally addressed the bullying accusations they faced on Love Island

Dami doesn’t believe he bullied Tasha in the villa

Luca and Dami have both addressed the accusations of bullying they faced while in the Love Island villa. During the course of the show, viewers slammed the two and said they were “bullying” fellow Islander Tasha. One moment in particular was during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge which led to Tasha wanting to quit the show. The show ended last month, but now both Luca and Dami have finally addressed these bullying claims.

Speaking with Toby Aromolaran on his Fancy a Chat? podcast, Dami said he didn’t feel as though he bullied Tasha, and it was the people calling him a bully that were guilty. Dami explained he didn’t think it was “fair” to label him and Luca as bullies during the show. He said: “I never went to Tasha and started nitpicking at her, or looking for insecurities or insulting her, I’ve never done that. It’s only in scenarios where we’re playing games and they’re asking questions, ‘who do you think this could be?'” Dami defended himself and said all he was doing backing Andrew.

Former Islanders have even spoken out to say the producers should’ve stepped in over the treatment of Tasha by the boys, but Dami said it is the people on the internet who are the “real bullies”. “People doing all their tweets, they’re the ones bullying us,” he added.

In one of his first interviews since leaving the villa, Luca has addressed the bullying claims against him about Tasha, as well as Remi Lambert. Speaking with Grazia, Luca said he was watched the show back since leaving the villa and was realised he was “wrong”. Luca has admitted he took it “too far” when he was in the villa and has apologised for Tasha for his behaviour towards her. “I’m glad it hasn’t affected our friendship,” he said.

Ex-Islander Remi Lambert called out his fellow Islanders Luca and Jacques for “bullying” him during an Instagram live, where they were seen to be mocking him. When asked about the bullying accusations from Remi, Luca said: “Nobody wants to be called a bully and it’s not a nice word to be called at all. I think it was guilty by association because if you watch the live video back, there was no insults from me.” He told Grazia he reached out to Remi privately to talk things through.
