Tanya Reynolds has just quit Sex Education before season four starts filming this month

OMG NO😭

Tanya Reynolds, who plays Lily on Sex Education, has confirmed she won’t be returning for the fourth season.

Tanya is the third character to quit the show ahead of season four. Patricia Allison, who plays her girlfriend Ola, and Simone Ashley also decided not to come back for the fourth season.

Tanya told Radio Times: “I’m not returning actually, which is sad, very sad.” Currently she is promoting her upcoming Channel 4 comedy called I Hate You.

She said: “It’s just the natural progression of these shows – when you have such a big ensemble cast and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen.

“I loved every minute of it and I loved Lily with my entire heart. Three seasons was just a really perfect amount for me.”

The actress who plays Tanya’s on-screen girlfriend, Patricia Allison, spoke about her reasons for not returning too. The 27-year-old said some other opportunities have come up but she’s loved her time on the show over the last three years. She said it was a hard decision to make but people have to say goodbye to projects they love if they want to move forward.

Apparently filming for Sex Education season four is scheduled to start this month although Netflix hasn’t confirmed a release date or any details about the season.

Are you crying? Because I am crying.
