Only a select few will be able to spell these UK towns and cities correctly

Crack out that GCSE Geography textbook

The United Kingdom. It’s a strange land. Home of Wetherspoons, the Royal Family, and Boris Johnson. We’re a weird nation, full of weird people, weird universities, and weird traditions. Or, in the words of Hugh Grant, in the greatest UK film of them all (Love Actually): “We may be a small country, but we’re a great one too. The country of Shakespeare, Churchill, The Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry Potter, David Beckham’s right foot, David Beckham’s left foot.”

But with all this weirdness comes, well, some frankly bizarre towns and cities. Remember in Freshers’ Week, when everyone you meet seems to be from a city that you either haven’t heard of or can’t pronounce? Don’t worry, we’ve all been there.

So, good people, dust off your atlas, whip out your Oxbow Lake textbook, and be prepared to do some hardcore geography, because it’s gonna get wild. What’s the correct spelling of these UK towns and cities?
