‘Make stuff’: Toff is called out for posting massively out of touch and ‘icky’ job advert

It’s basically 50 ambiguous jobs all in one, with no listed salary

Georgia “Toff” Toffolo has been torn into for a job advert she just shared on her LinkedIn account. Toff, who now has one of the biggest net worths in the UK after marrying BrewDog founder James Watt, shared the post earlier this week.

Effectively, the job role is one person, to do absolutely everything across her personal socials, and the social accounts of her various businesses. There’s no salary, and she literally said she wants someone to “make stuff”. So, if you want to do a multitude of different jobs, for loads of different brands, with no idea of how much you’ll get paid, this is the job for you!

The full post said: “We are hiring 👀 We need someone brilliant at social to come and build with us. Not ‘manage our content calendar’. Actually make the stuff. Film it. Edit it. Post it. Test it. Occasionally bin it. Work out what’s working and do more of that.

“You’ll work across my personal socials + everything we’re building, including: Social Tip, Fool’s Fix, Second Best Beer, Untitled – my acne community, Jet Pack – our consumer investment fund. And whatever we inevitably decide to launch next week. 🤣🙃

“You’ll have a ridiculous amount to work with, LOADS of creative freedom, and a chance to earn equity in our new businesses. London based. Full time.”

As you might expect, the comments section is filled with the former Made in Chelsea star being dragged. People are calling her out of touch for not understanding this isn’t a realistic expectation for someone, and are effectively calling the post a joke.

“Speaking as a social media pro, respectfully, this is WAY too much work to put onto one person.  Being a personal brand manager and managing five business social accounts is a sure fire way to burn out even the *best* social person,” one said.

Another added: “Sounds like a ‘fast-paced environment’ and ‘competitive salary’ type of gig… Maybe free pizza on a Friday, and an IPA, if you’re lucky!” Others said the main issue was that no salary was listed. One simply put: “List. The. Salary!”

Thanks for this face melter @Georgia Toffolo – classic lack of understanding about marketing and social media. Hope your budget reflects the job 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 #b2bmarketing #marketingtips #marketingstrategy

The post has also gone viral on TikTok, with one person discussing just how ridiculous the idea of someone’s job role being to “do stuff” is. “Its not great,” they said. “The fact that you expect one person to be able to manage all of those brands and all of those social media platforms.

“That is a full social media agency job, which would be costing you £250k upwards. If not more. A year that is. It’s just really icky.”
