Perez Hilton’s live a ‘million times worse’ than we thought as friends reveal his distressing reality

‘It’s really getting to him’

Amidst being moved to an inpatient facility equipped to handle his physical and mental health needs, Perez Hilton’s loved ones have shared further insight into his state of mind after the graphic livestream.

“At this time, Perez remains hospitalised and is receiving the medical care he needs. His treatment is continuing in an inpatient setting under the care of a dedicated team of medical and mental health professionals,” his family announced on his website.

“For now, Perez’s health remains the priority as his team keeps the site active and moving forward.”

But even now, over two weeks after the horrible ordeal he experienced, Perez is still grappling with the reality of what happened. New information has only made the story even more upsetting.

Perez Hilton still has a lot of questions

The blogger’s family have said it’s going to be a “long” recovery for Perez Hilton, with some sources even suggesting it could be months, if not years, before he’s back to himself.

In a new interview with the Daily Mail, a friend who has known Perez for over 20 years said he’s struggling to recall the night in question.

They explained: “It’s really getting to him. Why did he go live? Why did he do it so publicly? That’s the worst thing. He remembers being in the ambulance, the blood on the floor, a feeling of dread. That type of thing.

“But he doesn’t remember the whole process yet of finding a knife, setting up the video, and going live. There are a lot of gaps in his memory.”

Initially, upon waking up in the hospital, Perez believed he had been in a terrible car accident. Doctors told him the truth a few days later, leaving him “horrified and embarrassed” by the livestream. The friend said the public nature of his mental health crisis has made it “a million times worse.”

The person continued: “I know for a fact that he’s humiliated. Like 20 years ago he made a big deal of Britney [Spears] shaving her head and acting crazy, and that pales in comparison.

“He can no longer ever be snarky publicly. Not even a little bit. That part of his brand is gone. How could he possibly return to any sort of snark at all? That brand is done. He’s been humbled a lot, and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.”

Despite the heartbreak, Perez is reportedly “determined” to get better for his family.

“He wants to be home, to see his family, to be around his things and the people he loves. That’s what he wants the most,” they added. “Everything else will come. But he will have to grieve the loss of a lot of things before this happened. His life will be divided into before and after, and we have no idea what after will be.”

Perez has yet to speak out himself regarding the live.
