Unaired scenes from the Love Is Blind UK pods explain why Chevanique gets so much screen time

The drama makes so much more sense with this context

Chevanique (aka Chey) is a big focus of Love Is Blind UK season three, even though she doesn’t actually get engaged. After Joseph proposed to Francesca and not her, the other girls gave Chevanique a dramatic send-off – but this isn’t typical for Love Is Blind. Unaired scenes from the pods stage explain why Chevanique is treated differently on the show.

So, we know that 30 participants were sent into the pods for Love Is Blind UK season three. 15 of them were men, and 15 were women. The show’s producers have confirmed that a whopping 14 couples got engaged this year. Really. That’s more engagements than ever before. Eight other couples’ relationships were cut.

The executive producer Nazleen Karim told the Mirror: “When there are more engagements than we can physically follow, we have to make difficult editorial choices. We’re looking for a range of different relationship journeys and stories that together capture the full experience of the experiment.”

If you do the maths, you’ll clock that only one woman and one man who went into the pods didn’t find a match. Ergo, Chevanique would be the only girl who nobody proposed to.

This adds context to how hard Chevanique was grafting with Joseph over the final days of the pods stage. It may explain why the other girls were extra emotional when Joseph called things off with Chevanique, and she had a different send-off to everybody else on the show.

This could also be a reason why Chevanique keeps popping up at couples’ get-togethers in London during the later episodes of the show, but we haven’t seen anybody else from the pods stage get this treatment.
