Love Island’s Simba visited the KCL neuroscience facility researching his mum’s condition

Love Island finalists Angelista and Simba were spotted at King’s College London’s Denmark Hill Campus.

The couple, who finished the show in third place, have been doing their fair share of interviews since leaving the villa, but they’ve also found time to visit King’s.

A picture posted to Simba’s Instagram story showed a PowerPoint slide, which read: “Why basic science matters for understanding Motor Neuron disease” followed by a caption that said “Welcoming Simba and Angie.”

In a separate story, Simba also posted a picture of the Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute on the universities Denmark Hill campus.

The reason for the couple visiting King’s is actually really wholesome as the Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute is researching the Motor Neurone Disease Simba’s mother has.

Simba has been open about his mum’s condition and has shared the impact being a carer from the age of 10 has had on him.

In a recent interview, he said: “I feel like looking back, I’m definitely proud of myself. I feel like it’s made me the man that I am now. It’s given me so many skills, so many credentials.”

Simba went onto explain how Angelista responded to the situation, saying: “I feel like with Angelista, it’s the empathy, you know. It’s easy for people to feel sympathetic towards my situation, but It’s been such a short amount of time in which we’ve known each other, but I can just see [that] she kind of feels how I feel, and that’s, that’s massive for me.”

Before joining the show, he also worked for the NHS as a senior neurological rehabilitation assistant.

Both Simba and Angelista are not the only Islanders to visit King’s. Last month, this year’s winner, Julia Majchrzak, attended her friend’s graduation ceremony at the Southbank Centre.

Posting to Instagram, she said: “Today was all about celebrating my best friend, congratulations on graduating from King’s. You deserve this so much, and I’m beyond proud of you.”
