Ajike Owens’ iconic neighbour shares brutal message for Susan Lorincz after the Netflix doc

She was the one who had a confrontation with the police

Phyllis Wills was the now-iconic neighbour of Ajike Owens and Susan Lorincz, and she’s since been lauded as a “real one” for how she dealt with the horrific incident shown in The Perfect Neighbor.

As told through Netflix’s The Perfect Neighbor, we first met Phyllis when police questioned neighbours and kids about AJ allegedly throwing a sign at Susan. She defended her friend, detailing a history of Susan harassing the community’s kids, but it was after AJ’s death that we saw her really go to bat. She shouted at Susan when she was collecting her belongings, telling the police that “everyone is upset” and that “she shouldn’t even be in the streets, she murdered this lady.”

When the police officer asked her to make his “life easier”, she passionately responded: “Your life easier? Make your life easier? Are you f*cking kidding me?”

People have hailed Phyllis as an “icon” on Twitter, as one person explained: “Listen. THIS is the perfect neighbour. I love this woman.”

“And to her… I salute!!! She’s actually The Perfect Neighbor!! Stood on business with the officer, neighbour and consoled Ajika’s children during their time of need,” another said.

“This is what it means to be a perfect neighbour. The way she protected & kept it real for her neighbour before & after the incident is the definition of community!” someone else wrote.

Phyllis Wills has been pretty vocal about the case on Facebook, and she’s been reacting to the documentary in real time.

Phyllis Wills shared a savage message for Susan after The Perfect Neighbor

In her first interview from prison, Susan Lorincz described the shooting whilst suggesting that Netflix should have paid her for the documentary.

Phyllis Wills was infuriated by the interview, so much so that she posted it on Facebook with the statement: “25 years for you is just the beginning. The fight is not over yet. It has literally just started. You will get what you deserve and what is coming to you.”

In another post, she also wrote a message to AJ, describing her as the “real hero” for protecting her kids.

“RIP Queen, you are the real hero in my eyes. You went out of this world protecting your children and doing what any mother would have done. You are a legend and your name will forever live on,” she said.
