Everybody stay f***ing calm. It seems like half the internet stopped working this morning. Surely, only memes and reactions about the internet outage can get is through these trying times.

Users have experienced difficulties with loads of popular sites, including Amazon, Canva, Duolingo, Fortnite, HMRC, Playstation, Ring and Zoom. People are also struggling to use mobile banking apps, such as  Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland. Some hospitals have encountered issues with their systems.

The mass internet outage is linked to a problem with Amazon Web Services – a system that many other sites depend on. The Amazon Web Services dashboard confirms they are now “seeing significant signs of recovery” on different services, and they “continue to work through a backlog of queued requests”. Well, that’s something.
