You finally can, so here’s how to filter out AI pictures on Pinterest

I’m free!

Pinterest has finally added a feature that lets you filter out photos that are AI generated. Honestly, I feel free.

Recently, it’s felt as though the site is plagued with AI images, and you can’t always tell which ones are, and which ones aren’t. Well now, there’s a way to stop them featuring completely.

Well, that’s the theory anyway. A few people on Twitter have reported still seeing some AI content, but it could just be teething issues. The majority of people have said this has completely changed the game. “Pinterest finally allowing a way to filter out AI slop I’M FREEEEE,” one person said. They later added: “It’s not perfect but god my feed is already so much better.” Another person added: “It’s working quite well for me. Haven’t come across any AI images yet, but I’m sure it’s not 100 per cent accurate.”

So, here’s how to actually do it.

How to filter out AI images on Pinterest

Here’s a simple step-by-step of how to turn of AI images on your Pinterest account. All you need to do is be logged in, and then it’s three simple clicks.

• Go to settings under “your accounts”

• Select “refine your recommendations”

• Go to “Gen AI interests”

You can then select which recommended pins you want AI content in – if it’s none, you need to turn all of the toggles off. You can alternatively leave it on for any you don’t mind seeing AI images for. Some people have noted that not all categories appear here, so have complained you may not be able to switch them all off.

Once you’ve turned off the toggles, to be sure it’s worked you should see a message appear that reads: “Turned off! You’ll start seeing fewer GenAI ideas for [category name] soon.” It’s a small step towards finally getting peace, at last.
