More pictures of Dean from MAFS UK’s massive transformation where he lost nine stone
He also lost his confidence
Throughout MAFS UK so far, Dean has been very open about the huge transformation where he lost nine stone of weight, but he said it didn’t make him any happier.
In his MAFS introduction, the loveable 31-year-old explained that losing the weight also made him lose himself, and he’s much happier being the size that he is now.
“When I was younger, I never really got the attention of many girls because I wasn’t that sexy guy. Dating was non-existent and I always got cast off into the friendzone. I think I got up to 22 stone and it’s like ‘Oh mad okay I need to kind of change’. And I wanted to get girls interested,” he said.

“I managed to actually lose about nine stone and it added pressure to stay looking that way and completely change the way I was. My friends called it ‘arrogant Dean’. And then I started to put the weight back on again but I was finding myself again. I was more confident in who I was.”
We saw a few pictures of Dean’s massive transformation in that opening episode, but here’s a closer look.
MAFS UK’s Dean lost nine stone of weight in 2018
When you scroll back on Dean’s Instagram, there are still lots of pictures of him from 2018 when he lost the dramatic amount of weight. At the time, he would have been 24, and pictures show he was working in theatre.

“I’d much rather be a care bear than a bad boy any day of the week, so don’t worry I won’t go changing who I am, and thank you once again for all the kindness and the love,” Dean said in a recent TikTok video after Sarah got backlash for “fat-shaming” him.
“There’s too much meanness and not niceness in this world, so just keep being positive and happy, and keep smiling. Life at life before life laughs at you. That’s what my granddad always used to say.”

Dean started gaining the weight back in 2019, and has been happier ever since.
“It’s not a shameful thing to be bigger, it’s just who you are and if someone loves you, they’ll love you for who you are. It’s the person inside,” he said on MAFS.
