Stop what you’re doing: The Exeter Tab is looking for a new TikTok Editor and it could be you

Applications close at 23:59pm on Sunday 7th September

It’s time to put that TikTok addiction to good use because applications to join The Exeter Tab’s 25/26 editorial team as our TikTok Editor are now open!

Students from any university in Exeter are encouraged to apply.

We’re looking for students who keep their eye on upcoming trends and are passionate about creating relatable and entertaining content.

You can apply via the Google form at the bottom of this article, with applications closing at 23:59pm on Sunday 7th September.

So, what is the job?

The successful applicant will work alongside the editorial team with the responsibility of producing content for our TikTok page. You’ll also be in charge of monitoring the account, alongside collaborating with our Social Media Editor to produce content across all social media platforms.

The applicant must be consistent in posting various forms of content on TikTok, related to online trends, Exeter university culture, and student news.

It’s required that the TikTok Editor is able to use various editing software such as CapCut and Canva to create TikTok content which may be long news videos, viral trends, and much more!

You must be confident in front of the camera for filming TikTok videos, whether that’s trending sounds and video formats, or serious news uploads.

The editorial team will be running weekly meetings across the academic year, which the successful applicant is expected to attend.

If you have any questions about the role, please get in touch via our Instagram.

What’s in it for me?

You’ll receive training from the team at The Tab HQ, and also gain a wide range of fantastic journalistic experience. Previous editors and contributors at The Tab have gone on to work for BBC News, The Telegraph, Vogue, and more.

What else is in it for you? As an editor, you’ll have the opportunity to write for the national Tab website (which amasses over nine million monthly views) and network with other student Tab editors from across the country at our biannual London get togethers.

So, if you want to put all your TikTok doom-scrolling to good use, please apply to join us for the upcoming academic year. We can’t wait to hear from you!
