Plastic surgery expert details the real reason Donatella Versace’s face looks so different
She legit looks like a different person
Donatella Versace, the legendary face behind Versace, is known for a number of things: Her timeless taste, her support of the LGBTQ+ community, and, of course, the amount of plastic surgery she’s *allegedly* had on her face.
Donatella took over Versace after her brother, the iconic Gianni Versace, was shot dead by serial killer Andrew Cunanan on July 15 1997. She turned the fashion house into the international brand we know (and can’t afford) today, sparking countless viral moments and actually birthing what we know as supermodels.
Donatella has long served as an example of what people deem “extreme” plastic surgery, despite never publicly admitting to going under the knife. But that all changed recently when she launched her official Instagram account, debuting what many people said was a stripped-down version of her mythic portrait.
Okay, so here’s why Donatella Versace’s face looks so different
People have long speculated about which plastic surgery procedures Donatella Versace has kept under wraps, and in a new interview with the MailOnline, advanced aesthetic nurse Anastasia Koles detailed why her Instagram looks like a completely different woman.

“From images, her lips do appear smaller compared to before, which can happen for a few reasons. In the past, she seems to have had permanent fillers, likely silicone, in combination with hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers layered on top,” she said. “If the HA filler has been dissolved or has naturally broken down, that could explain the reduction in volume.”
Though you might think that the fresh-faced Donatella would suggest she’s had work removed, Anastasia argued the opposite.
She continued: “The initial widening of her lips may also have been due to silicone combined with the effects of a high-tension facelift, where the skin is pulled quite tightly to the sides of the face. Her jawline also appears more defined, which could be the result of dermal filler to enhance structure or skin-tightening treatments such as RF microneedling, both of which are commonly used to create a sharper, more contoured appearance.”
But there’s also an age element, as “changes in skin and tissue over time can make lips and facial features look different.”
Either way, the queen is looking glorious!
