Drag Race winner Monét X Change ‘accosted’ by airport security for suspicious looking package

Drag Race winner and all round utter legend Monét X Change has revealed she was “accosted” at the airport by the TSA after they flagged her travelling with a ziplock bag as suspicious. And I’d love to be on Monét’s side, as would everyone in her TikTok comment section – but the completely innocent bag looks so suspicious that everyone is absolutely gagged how Drag Race winner Monét X Change ever thought the airport TSA would not be running over to inspect it further because it’s the most sus looking package imaginable. It’s all been a big saga, but here’s what Monét’s said about it.

Monét posted a TikTok yesterday giving us all a story time on how the TSA pounced on her at the airport. Monét explained “Some of you may know that I have become a fitness girly over the last year. I’ve been really trying to up my fitness. Part of that means drinking and eating a lot of protein. More protein than I am ever used to consuming in my life. I don’t like protein milk, I don’t like shakes like vanilla or chocolate – I like protein juice.

“Anyway, long story short I travel with a lot of protein. Today, the way I was accosted at TSA was crazy.” She shows off the offending culprit – a big ziplock bag with a lot of protein powder in that looks a lot like, well… drugs. “I do understand how this can look suspicious,” Monét says. “I understand how this may be off-putting to someone at the TSA.

“It didn’t need five TSA workers to accost me this morning. To stand around this bag and question what it is. I was like ‘guys, it’s protein.’ Girl, they had to pull me aside, they had to search me, they had to test me, they had to test this. All for some protein powder. There has to be a better way.

“For all you girlies out there travelling with your protein powder – don’t put it in your carry on. Put that sh*t in your suitcase to avoid unpleasantries in your travel situation.”

‘I wanted to be on your side’

People in the TikTok comments are honestly gobsmacked that Monét is surprised this would get such a thorough check, because of how it literally looks so dodgy. One said “I wanted to be on your side” and the other said “Monét be so for real”. Another said “Not me on TSA’s side”.

Most people are just commenting begging for Bob the Drag Queen’s response and reaction to this saga, though. Because we all know Bob is going to absolutely paste Monét when this comes up on Sibling Rivalry.
