Inside the Amy Lynn Bradley Reddit, and what its biggest theories of what happened are

People on it have gone to incredible lengths to research the case

During Amy Bradley Is Missing on Netflix, a number of Reddit threads appear on screen to show how the baffling case spread into online subs. The forums still exist now, and share loads of information about the case.

In March 1998, Amy Bradley went missing. She had been on a family holiday on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. When she was last seen, Amy had been out at a club on board, and returned to the family cabin in the early hours. Later that morning, when Amy’s father went to check on her, she wasn’t in the cabin. Since then, a bunch of forums have started – to discuss the latest news, and all the theories surrounding her case.

The Reddit thread /AmyLynnBradley that is shown on Netflix, is still very much live. It has 6.2k members currently. Most recently, people have been sharing their opinions on the documentary. Mostly, the Reddit crowd seem to have good things to say about it.

They also share theories. “Hi everyone. Amy Bradley is still alive. She did not fall, nor did she jump,” one person said. “I believe she is currently being held (or at least was) in Barbados, which explains the digital footprint information. Maybe since the public became aware of that information, they have relocated her to somewhere else. She was misled off the ship to obtain drugs. She was then trafficked.”

This theory then went on to address the photos of a woman believed to be Amy, found on an adult website. They continued: “The photos of Amy Bradley – without a doubt – is Amy Bradley. There’s no question about it. FBI analysis confirms this – and public opinion would also agree.”

Another posted said: “She IS alive.” Others said the photos are “definitely her”. Someone else shared the full forensic analysis of the photos, that wasn’t given in the Netflix show.

What is their final verdict on the case?

In one part of the Netflix show, a screenshot is shown from the Unsolved Mysteries Reddit sub, where a poster asked everyone’s “final verdict” on what happened to Amy Bradley. The post has been deleted, but an archived version can still be viewed.

You might be wondering what the Unsolved Mysteries Reddit had to say about the case. “I think the most likely explanation is the most likely for a reason. She was drinking, she leaned over the railing to vomit and fell overboard and drowned. Extremely sad,” one theorised.

Someone in the comments, who said they had researched the case, pointed out that despite being a good swimmer, Amy was “terrified” of open water. “She was terrified of the sea. Even drunk I don’t think she would have done that,” they said.

The other main theory on this thread is that Amy was taken to be trafficked. “She was definitely human trafficked,” one said. “It’s incredibly sad that she’s been trying to escape but just can’t.”
