The wild ages of the Squid Game season three cast, ranked from youngest to oldest

We be looking like 20 year old dinosaurs next to these lot

Squid Game season three might be over, pulling the curtains closed on the beloved South Korean TV show, but to be honest, I’m still stuck on the truly insane ages of its cast.

Last year, Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk detailed why having a diverse group of ages makes for a more thrilling experience, explaining: “Because [this season’s players] are younger, it led to the increase of diversity within the games and also a sense of wildness. They have a lot of adrenaline and energy. This took the craziness of the games to another level.”

Most of those players came back for season three, minus a few who were killed during the rebellion, but some have celebrated birthdays since then. Here are their updated ages, ranked by whose skincare secrets we need the most.

Something that was created on the spot doesn’t really have an age, but if Squid Game was filmed last year, it would make Jun-hee’s CGI baby somewhere around 6 months old.

17. 17. Jo Yuri (Jun-hee) – 23

Jo Yuri is still the same age she was during Squid Game season two, as her birthday falls on October 22. She is still 23 years old, which makes the fact that she popped out a baby during the games all the more shocking.

16. Won Ji-an (Se-mi) – 25

We only got to see a brief drug-induced vision of Se-mi after she was killed rather violently towards the end of season two. Her actress, Won Ji-an, is still 25 years old.

15. Lee David (Min-su) – 31

Lee David celebrated a birthday between seasons, making him now 31. I could be easily convinced that Lee David is 14 years old, which might be due to the way he plays the meek Squid Game character.

14. Roh Jae-won (Nam-gyu) – 31

Nam-gyu finally met his end in season three, shockingly at the hands of Min-su. Roh Jae-won is another Squid Game season three actor who simply doesn’t look his age.

13. Park Gyu-young (Kang No-eul) – 31

Being a bad B must also keep you young, because how is Kang No-eul only 31 years old? Is there a way of saying I want to wear her face that doesn’t sound like something from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre?

13. Wi Ha-jun (Hwang Jun-ho) – 33

Husband. King. A somewhat useless addition to Squid Game season three. Wi Ha-jun might look 25, but he’s actually 33.

12. Kang Ha-neul (Dae-ho) – 35

Kang Ha-neul celebrated a birthday in February, bringing his age to 35.

11. Yim Si-wan (Myung-gi) – 36

Myung-gi might be 30, which makes his relationship with Jun-hee somewhat eye-opening, but his actor Yim Si-wan is 36. Again, I could fully be convinced this man is in his 20s; there’s simply no way he is fast approaching 40.

10. Choi Seung-hyun (Thanos) – 37

Another ghost of Squid Game season two, Thanos’ jarring personality appeared as a vision to Min-su during his drug-induced panic moments before his death. It might be the purple hair or the grating teenager-like personality, but Choi Seung-hyun does not look 37.

9. Park Sung-hoon (Hyun-ju) – 40

Though Park Sung-hoon looks *slightly* older when not playing a trans woman, which somehow de-aged him even more, you’re seriously telling me this guy was alive when the Berlin wall fell? Make it make sense.

8. Lee Jin-uk (Gyeong-seok/Player 246) – 43

This man is NOT 43, I refuse to believe it.

7. Yang Dong-geun (Yong-sik) – 46

Yang Dong-geun was born on June 1, 1979, making him the grand age of 46. Clinging to your mother like a baby apparently de-ages you on Netflix.

6. Lee Jung-jae (Gi-hun) – 52

We’ve already established that Lee Jung-jae was a bit of a South Korean heartthrob back in the day, but still, the actor being old enough to be my dad is still shocking.

5. Lee Byung-hun (The Front Man) – 54

Lee Byung-hun simply refuses to age, and you’ve got to give him credit. At 54, he’s looking more youthful than half of the 30-year-olds I know, so contrary to popular belief: Being evil MUST keep you young.

4. Chae Kuk-hee (Shaman Seon-nyeo) – 54

This might be the only age I actually believe because the Shaman’s wise (and very creepy) personality lends her a wisdom only found in the older generations. I would trust her to do my taxes.

3. Park Hee-soon (The Black Officer) – 55

We didn’t get to see him a huge amount, but from the scenes we actually watched, the Black Officer seemed to be somewhere in his 30s. Imagine my surprise when I Googled his name to discover he’s 55!

3. Cate Blanchett (American Recruiter) – 56

Cate Blanchett’s shocking cameo at the end of Squid Game season three might never be answered, which is also true of her ageless beauty. Cate Blanchett has always been that girl, and I just need her skincare routine (and money).

2. Kang Ae-sim (Geum-ja) – 62

Queen and literal mother, Geum-ja’s actress, Kang Ae-sim, is the oldest Squid Game season three cast member.
