Drag Race queens reveal the shady unaired reaction they had to Katy Perry guest judging

It’s safe to say the levels of gagging when it comes to former high priestess of pop Katy Perry have been severely reduced in the year that has seen her career tank HARD. You’d have to be living under a utopian rock to not have had to endure Katy Perry’s 143 era, which saw her career tank hard after a disastrous lead single that was fighting off AI allegations and then it dropped to being the worst reviewed album of the 2020s. Yikes. Still, you can usually rely on LGBTQ+ people to see the good in even the shittest of pop records – but apparently not even the Drag Race queens could muster up being arsed about Katy Perry, as the cast of season 17 reveal some shady unaired reaction to her being a guest judge.

As Drag Race became more and more of a phenomenon, the show has become famous for how many huge guest stars have judged an episode including massive names like Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera and Nicki Minaj. And whilst season 17 might have had Katy Perry super fan Joella in the cast, the other girls were notably less enthused.

In a TikTok that’s now gone viral, Kori King has revealed some unaired shady reaction to Katy Perry on Drag Race and it’s actually hilarious. But very savage. Kori shares that “Katy Perry walked in and it was me, Crystal and Jewels and she walked in like ‘hey, slay queens’ and I remember Jewels just went: ‘Do we care?’

“This was in Untucked. And then Crystal goes like ‘Guys, let’s just go.'” Kori then explained it wasn’t in the Werk Room pop in that Katy did earlier, but in Untucked. She said Katy Perry was actually funny and they sat with her and talked but they actually just wanted to chat about how all the queens had voted in Rate A Queen rather than listen to a pop star.

Katy Perry guest judging was a big source of conversation considering people wanted to know what the queens had made of Katy’s single Woman’s World – considering they all heard it when the show was filmed which was prior to the release of that song. Woman’s World got absolutely dragged by the public, and to be honest it seems like the queens weren’t that enthused either.
