May the biggest name win: Cast your votes now for your 2024/25 Birmingham BNOC champion
The votes are open, the spotlight is on, and it’s time for you to decide who takes home the crown as Brum’s Biggest Name on Campus
It’s time, students across Birmingham have been quaking in their boots in anticipation of the BNOC final, and it’s finally here.
After countless nominations, interviews, and an intense whittling down of candidates, it’s time for you to vote for your Biggest Name on Campus 2024/25.
Only three candidates remain, and they’re here to convince you why they deserve your vote. It won’t be easy, we’re talking campus royalty here. However, these interviews might just help you figure out who really runs the show.
Sofia Latham, first year, sports science
First up: Sofia Latham — student athlete, oat enthusiast, and all-around BUAC legend.
Known for her unwavering dedication to the BUAC (that’s UoB athletics and cross country, for the uninitiated) lifestyle, Sofia’s basically in a permanent slo-mo training montage.
When she’s not buried in sports science textbooks or carb-loading with oats, you’ll find her facing the ultimate uni dilemma: Snobs, Circo, or Sports Night? (No wrong answer… just vibes.)
A self-declared social butterfly, Sofia’s always up for a night out — though she’s not sold on Circo every Friday. As she puts it: “Circo is basically just a sauna that serves drinks atp tho.” And honestly? She’s not wrong.
If Sofia’s the biggest name in your campus universe, make it official and cast that vote.
Jacob Dyke, second year, history and politics
Next up is Jacob Dyke — Guild Education Officer, debate lover, and self-proclaimed nice guy. And honestly? What’s not to love?
Most Read
Jacob’s got a soft spot for tabletop games, so unless you’re ready to be crushed in a game of checkers, don’t even try him. He describes himself as friendly, kind, and always happy to help, and with that wholesome smile? We believe him.
Although he appreciates a night out, Jacob’s more of a pint-and-pub kind of guy. He prefers a quiet booth over a booming bass and honestly, the chill vibes suit him. But don’t let that fool you — you’ll still spot him at Sports Night… likely handing out cups of water like the campus hydration king he is.
If Jacob’s your BNOC MVP, show him some love and vote now!
Freddie Coulson, second year, liberal arts and natural sciences
Last but absolutely never least, Freddie Coulson is the human embodiment of a good time.
When asked to sum himself up in three words, Freddie went with “unserious, beer, and boats”. Honestly, name a more elite trio. We’ll wait.
Whether he’s out at sea repping the Sailing Society, sinking pints on dry land, or just generally not taking life too seriously, Freddie’s living his best life — often managing to do all three at once.
He’s also a certified Circo Friday regular… though his time on the dance floor is usually short-lived. Word on campus? He’s got a bit of a reputation for getting kicked out. Hey, we respect consistency and commitment to a memorable night out.
If Freddie floats your boat (pun absolutely intended), make your vote count and send it his way.
You’ve met the icons and now the power’s in your hands. Whether you’re team Sofia with her athletic allure, Jacob’s tabletop charm, or Freddie’s Circo chaos — it’s time to back your biggest name.
Cast your vote, make it count, and may the most legendary campus celeb win.
Because at the end of the day… fame is fleeting, but BNOC status is forever.
