‘Heartbreaking’: Jacqui and Ryan share what their ruthless MAFS final vows were really like

‘She literally just wanted to have that hammer-home moment’

I don’t know about you, but I’m still catching my breath after watching Jacqui and Ryan deliver their final vows on MAFS Australia 2025. As we could have probably predicted with them, Jacqui and Ryan’s final vows were a lot.

After weeks of going back and forth, they finally both admitted enough was enough. The two of them both said they didn’t want to continue with their relationship after the show.

Jacqui brutally told Ryan she wasn’t a “rehabilitation centre” and yet again called out his lack of communication and compromise. “In a world of red flags, you are the red carpet,” she said – in what she herself called an “iconic line”. Ok, sure.

Ryan was left flabbergasted and branded Jacqui a “high-maintenance nightmare”. As she walked away, he concluded: “Be gone with you, you horrible woman.” Speaking to 9Entertainment after the show aired, both Jacqui and Ryan have reacted to what went down between them.

Ryan admitted he didn’t expect Jacqui to go in on him so much. He said it felt more like she wanted to have her big moment in front of everyone on TV.

“It was pretty heartbreaking that she felt the need to have that mic-drop moment,” he said. “I knew we didn’t have that love, but she literally just wanted to have that hammer-home moment and maybe she just wanted to emerge victorious? Like hmm, catch you later, catch you never.”

Jacqui had another story to tell, and said she said what she needed to say. She explained she maybe could have been more emotive, but felt she would have just been called dramatic – as she had been so many times before.

“For me, I just spoke my truth and my reality. In hindsight I could have spoken more out of emotion and talked about how I felt, but everyone had complained I was being too dramatic,” Jacqui explained.

“Then to just sum it up, and be like Ryan you’re the red carpet. I’ve already tried that, it failed, now I’m just going to do it my way. It felt great. To have him argue with me, butt in and interrupt me – I don’t think there’s ever been someone who has actually interrupted someone during final vows and not let them speak and argue with them.”

I don’t think we should expect a reunion for them any time soon.
