Exeter wouldn’t be Exeter without its BNOCs

Attention Exeter students, the moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Gather round, it’s officially that time of the year. It’s more exciting than grabbing a TP Wednesday ticket before they sell out in 0.2 seconds; more magical than scoring a resold EGB ticket for face value; and yes, even better than waking up to an 8:30am lecture cancellation after a night of one-too-many venoms.

That’s right, it’s time to nominate your campus BNOC for the 2025/26 year and give them the title they so rightfully deserve.

For those of you who’ve made it this far and still have no clue what a BNOC is — don’t worry, we’ve got you. It stands for Big Name On Campus, and it’s a title chosen by Exeter students themselves.

So go crazy. Vote for your housemate who’s left one too many dirty dishes in the sink, your best friend just because you’re feeling extra affectionate, or even that campus crush you’ve awkwardly locked eyes with exactly three times. You’ve got free rein, so use it wisely (or don’t).

Being labelled a BNOC is equivalent to having the most aura. Picture Piano Man on a Wednesday TP night with all the aura you thought was possible, then triple it. And no, it’s not a joke (seriously, it’s not).

We’re asking you to vote for that person who outshines the rest. Someone who reaches Beyoncé levels of iconic status – or, alternatively, someone like those unforgettable failed X-Factor auditions we all secretly remember.

It’s super easy, so why wouldn’t you? Once you’ve voted, Exeter students will come together during voting season to crown the nominees as the top BNOCs.
