So, here’s everything that went down when Love Island star Whitney starred on Netflix’s Inside
She was bullied so much, she had to quit social media for a while
Whitney Adebayo is no stranger to reality TV, but the backlash she’s faced after starring in Netflix’s Inside has reached a whole new level. The former Love Island star revealed that viewers flooded her with racist abuse and even death threats after the show aired—forcing her to temporarily deactivate her social media.
Whitney was one of the celebrity contestants on Inside, KSI’s Netflix series that throws players into a high-stakes game where they compete for £1 million while trying to outsmart each other. It was meant to be fun, strategic, and full of drama—but for her, the drama didn’t stop when the cameras did.

After the show aired, people bombarded her with horrific messages, including racial slurs and violent threats. Whitney took to Instagram to expose the racist abuse, sharing screenshots of the messages before making the difficult decision to step away from social media.
“I understand that being in the spotlight brings criticism, but what I’ve experienced the past few days goes beyond that,” she wrote. “This is evil, hatred, and pure racism.”
And she’s not exaggerating.
So, what actually happened?
For those who missed it, Whitney played the role of a ‘spender’ on Inside. She was more reckless with money than some of the more cautious players. It made for great entertainment (and yes, drama), but it also seemed to trigger some strong reactions from viewers who didn’t like how she played the game.

Whitney addressed this in her Instagram post, saying: “This isn’t just about a TV show; it’s about the way society sometimes responds to women like me—women who stand out, who don’t fit the ‘cute and mute’ mold.”
She made it clear that she’s not backing down. “To those who have tried to tear me down, I want to remind you: your hate doesn’t define me.”

Her boyfriend shared his support
Throughout the storm of racist abuse, Whitney had her Love Island boyfriend Lochan Nowacki by her side. He defended her publicly, calling out the “shocking and disgusting” level of hate she received.
“For everyone that knows you, they know you are kind and pure-hearted,” he commented. “And I, for one, was definitely entertained! I love you. Always on top, queen.” And honestly, he’s right.

“I had the best time, however, my journey has come to an end. Love me or hate me, either way, I know you were entertained. You’re welcome x,” She wrote before she took a break from social media for a while. But now she’s back, and clearly, she’s not letting the hate get to her.
