Beyoncé to Kylie: All the random bangers in King Charles’ official Apple Music playlist
He’s stealing Barack Obama’s nachos with this one
Err, a weird little thing has happened: King Charles has made a playlist on Apple Music of songs he loves. In a move that I’m assuming is to help the Royal Family find some footing and relevance with the younger generation and to make them seem a bit more relatable than an audience who increasingly doesn’t care, there’s a list of songs the King is apparently bumpin’ that too. Whilst the popularity of the King amongst young people declines, the love for Diana does not move. But perhaps the King is hoping people might give more of a damn now he’s announced he’s streaming RAYE in the palace. No, I’m not joking. Here’s a full rundown of all the songs on King Charles’ brand new official Apple Music playlist.
The project, titled The King’s Music Room, launched on Apple Music today. The playlist is, according to the Royal Family’s official announcement, a “musical journey that reflects His Majesty’s personal taste, the show is shaped by his extraordinary experiences from around the world.”
King Charles himself in a video announcement explained: “Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others. It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places. But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy.”
The full list of songs on the playlist are as follows:
- Could You Be Loved – Bob Marley and the Whalers
- My Boy Lollipop – Millie Small
- The Loco-Motion – Kylie Minogue
- The Very Thought of You – Al Bowlly
- La Vie En Rose – Grace Jones
- Love Me Again – RAYE
- Mpempem Do Me – Daddy Lumba
- KANTE – Davido
- The Click Song – Miriam Makeba
- My Country Man – Jools Holland and Ruby Turner

- Anta Permana – Siti Nurhaliza
- E Te Iwe E – Various Artists
- Haven’t Met You Yet – Michael Bublé
