The definitive ranking of all The White Lotus theme tunes – from bop to flop

If you don’t agree on the top spot then have a word with yourselves

A great theme tune makes or breaks a TV show – and by that, I mean makes or breaks whether we press the skip title sequence button on streaming services. The White Lotus has always made its mark with its title sequence even before season two became a cultural phenomenon. If you’ve watched even a single episode, you know that the opening music does more than just set the vibe. Each season’s theme has its own distinct flavour, but they all share that signature blend of luxury, mystery, and a spooky drop of dread. The theme tunes are part of what’s made the show such a hit – and now we’ve got three to dive into here’s a thorough ranking of all The White Lotus opening credits bangers from BOP to … slight flop.

1. SEASON TWO!!!!!

Okay, let’s be real: The White Lotus season two theme has to be at the tip. We can’t tiptoe about it, and I won’t waste your time pretending otherwise.

There’s something about that mix of haunting synths and orchestral drama that just pulls you in immediately. It’s darker, it’s moody, and it has that eerie, almost hypnotic quality that perfectly matches the drama of Sicily’s sun-soaked backdrop. But what really takes it to the next level is how it blew up in pop culture. It was everywhere—from TikToks to memes to banging club remixes (shoutout Sofi Tucker!) It’s not just a theme, it’s a vibe, and it became as iconic as the show itself.

I am firmly in the camp however that we should NOT try and recreate it. We need to leave it as a time capsule moment when life was sweet. Every season has to be a different vibe now. Will they ever top it? Doubt it. Preserve it.

2. Season one

Where it all started. If this season’s theme tune didn’t absolutely slap, then there’d be no season two banger. This much is true. There’s a raw guttural power to the first times you heard the choral orchestration of this first season. It’s an instant wow, not even a slow burn. And whilst it feels a bit bare bones going back and listening to it now after the juggernaut of the second, season one’s White Lotus them is still a comforting hug. And just reminds me of having the godly Murray Bartlett in the cast. Miss him.

3. Season three

Obviously we’ve only had one measly episode to enjoy the new vibes of season three, but I’m putting The White Lotus’ offering at the theme tunes at the bottom of the ranking. Perhaps it’s because we come off the back of the GOAT, but something about it just doesn’t hit as hard as the others for me. I don’t know if the instrumental quite feels right for the vibe of the season? Time will tell.
