Taylor shares an update about *that* Instagram dilemma she had with Daniel during Love Is Blind
I’m so sat for their drama
One of the biggest dramas during Love Is Blind season eight has been the Instagram dilemma between new couple, Taylor and Daniel. Throughout their time in the pods, it became clear Taylor was worried Daniel had already connected with her in the real world. Which of course, would kind of be against the entire point of the show.
In a first for the show, as the two dated it was questioned if they knew each other before. Taylor was worried Daniel had once followed and then unfollowed her on Instagram. “When the doors opened and I saw you, I thought, ‘Wow, he looks familiar to me’,” she said, when they first met.
She even went as far to describe some Christmas pictures she remembered, which it looks like really do exist. But, Daniel denied it all. “I have a weird memory when it comes to Instagram handles,” he claimed. “And I can see the person’s profile picture in my head. I would recognise your Instagram handle and I don’t.”

‘It scared me’
Now the episodes have aired, Taylor has spoken in an interview about the dilemma. “The primary concern was that he knew what I looked like during the experiment,” she told Glamour.
“I’m guilty, too, of judging people off their looks and I’m sure that’s been done to me. I wanted that to be completely removed from this entire situation. Hence, Love Is Blind. So the thought of that very premise being compromised was terrifying to me.”

She added: “It just scared me. We’re operating on very limited information at the time. We don’t have our devices, we don’t have our people to talk to and bounce ideas off of. We’re running on minimal sleep and we’re running on adrenaline. There was so many factors playing into it.”
Speaking of how the show left it on a dramatic cliffhanger, she added: “I’ve had a lot of anxiety about this bit of the story that happened because I thought it was going to be made into a bigger thing than it really was at the time. It was in the teaser. It was in the trailer. I knew it was going to be a part of the storyline for me, but I just feel like it’s a lot more hype than it needs to be.”

Nick and Vanessa Lachey have commented too
In a different interview, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey gave their hot take on the issue. “[This season] really highlighted how social media does impact a relationship,” Vanessa told Us Weekly. “If somebody is following you and does know a lot about you, is that fair? And it didn’t give you an opportunity to truly get to know them for who they are because that is a persona. That is why it’s Instagram and it’s posted.”
Nick didn’t give much of a reply, and just said he didn’t “think it was a big deal.” Fair enough.
