Omg, people have worked out the ‘real reason’ Luca is grafting Samie and it’s kinda sad

Last night’s instalment of Love Island saw Luca Bish kiss new arrival Samie Elishi during a game of spin and the bottle despite being coupled up with Grace Jackson.

After a disastrous first stint in 2022 that saw him branded every word under the sun, Luca returned to TV screens in January as part of the Love Island All Stars cast. He set out to redeem his image, and besides that tense situation with Scott Thomas, he seems to be slowly undoing the damage he did to his reputation in season eight.

Though Grace and Luca seemed content in their little love bubble, that all changed on Tuesday when Tom Clare’s ex, Samie, entered the South African villa as a bombshell. He didn’t seem that interested at first but was soon locking lips with her in the game. Why? Twitter has some theories.

Twitter thinks the boys pressured Luca into talking with Samie

Gathered around the iconic firepit in last night’s episode, the All Stars settled down to play a classic game of spin the bottle. Prophesising the incoming drama, Grace requested that Luca kiss her bestie Catherine if he was forced to neck on with another Islander. He agreed, then did the exact opposite.

After the awkward moment, Grace could be heard telling her “disrespectful” boyfriend to “shut the f**k up.”

Many people on Twitter shared their shock at the moment as they questioned why Luca would torpedo his own relationship for a brief kiss with Samie and the subsequent chat, but others suggested it was to fit in with the boys.

“The boys were egging him on to talk to her, he felt he had to!” one person said.

Another wrote, “Luca was feeling pressure from Casey to make a play for Samie.”

“I think Luca felt the other boys pressuring him over Samie. Poor Grace,” someone else said.

Another person pointed out: “They are not Luca’s ‘boys’ he’s saying he has something good with Grace and they’re egging him on to get to know Samie.”

Other people on Twitter are even saying that producers forced Luca to kiss Samie, and while there is no confirmation of that, ITV bosses stoking the fires of drama is nothing new.

Regardless of the specific reason, it’s low-key quite sad that Luca feels the need to play up to other people’s expectations. He’s messy enough on his own and doesn’t need the help.
