This wild theory about Sammy and Elma on Love Island actually makes so much sense

Sammy and Elma seem to be really loved up already, but people have a theory about why they were really put in the villa together.

They already knew each other after meeting on TOWIE and had a spark, so the producers obviously thought reuniting them would make great TV.

However, the entertainment factor might not be the only thing they were thinking about. Perhaps it was also a plan to boost TOWIE’s ratings!

The Only Way Is Essex has seriously dropped in popularity and it’s not pulling in anywhere near the numbers it did in the Gemma Collins era.

Love Island and TOWIE are both ITV shows and the producers clearly knew that Elma and Sammy would mention meeting on the reality show.

One person explained the theory on TikTok, saying: “I don’t think it’s impossible that ITV producers have recognised these two have clear chemistry.”

“And although nothing has actually brewed on TOWIE they have both been on Love Island. I’m sure if we throw them back into the villa again, something’s naturally just gonna flow.”

“Obviously Love Island has a lot more viewers than TOWIE. If these two do well from the show then they can get those viewers to go on to TOWIE,” they continued.

In the comments, loads of other people agreed, with one person commenting: “Had the same theory. ITV know what they are doing.”

“I said this same thing. Seems very convenient,” someone else said.

Elma was always put off by the idea of dating Sammy because they have a huge age difference. He’s only 23 and she’s 32, so there are nine years between them.

However, they seem to be totally loved up in the villa, so it will be interesting to see if their relationship really does progress any further.
