P Diddy just filed a defamation counter lawsuit: Here’s the whopping amount he’s demanding

His lawyers say he’s never even met the person suing him

P Diddy has filed a defamation countersuit against an accuser Courtney Burgess, his attorney, Ariel Mitchell, and Nextstar Media Group, who are the parent company of the TV network NewsNation.

P Diddy’s attorneys filed the lawsuit on Wednesday 22nd January. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants deliberately fabricated and amplified false accusations about him for monetary gain and that NewsNation broadcast the allegations without proper due diligence. P Diddy’s lawyers’ counterclaim says those actions have caused Diddy financial and reputational harm and have tainted his right to a trial with an impartial jury.

P Diddy has been accused of trafficking and racketeering, but he has denied all of these allegations.

What were in the original lawsuits against P Diddy?

The lawsuit first alleges Burgess claimed he had videos of P Diddy “involved in the sexual assault of celebrities and minors.” Burgess and Mitchell allegedly repeated the claims to various news outlets, including NewsNation.

However, P Diddy’s attorneys claim because these alleged tapes don’t exist, Mitchell and Burgess’ statements that they had footage “were either knowingly blatant falsehoods or recklessly false statements.”

Burgess also alleged that Kim Porter, P Diddy’s ex and mother to four of his children who died in 2018, gave him a copy of her memoir as well as videos that show him “sexually assaulting inebriated celebrities and minors.” P Diddy’s lawyers claim that he and Burgess have never met, and Burgess does not have anything to do with his family.

How much is P Diddy filing for?

P Diddy has filed the defamation lawsuit for $50 million. It’s the same amount he previously offered to pay for his bail, which was denied.

When is P Diddy’s trial set to take place?

P Diddy is set to face trial next year, almost eight months after his arrest on the 16th of September this year. His trial is currently planned to take place on the 5th May 2025.

He is currently being held without bail in a New York prison, despite many attempts to be released on bail before his trial. All of his attempts were denied by the case’s previous judge who would not grant the request on the grounds that he was a “danger to the community.” His bail package included a $50 million payout, a GPS tracker, house arrest and the surrender of his entire family’s passports.
